Tradovate vs ninjatrader.
Mostly that you can't drag and drop limit orders and there's no system for scaling in/out of trades. For example you can't set up tradovate to automatically take profit at a target and sell all but one of your contracts. Also the UI is kind of fucked sometimes and limit orders that you've canceled still execute on the tradovate backend.
Dip your toes with tradovate as it offers a really low barrier to entry and has a lot of features for being browser based. You can move into a paid platform after you've developed and refined a winning strategy. This is because I use SierraChart and Jigsaw. SierraChart has the most stable data connection and excellent trade copier and most customizable charts. Jigsaw has one of the best DOM. The tradovate unfortunately only allows tradovate or ninjatrader, which has lacking features for me. Free platform. Comparable if not cheaper commissions than AMP. For scalpers i would say tradovate is the way to go if you get the commission free trading package. Other than that the platform is pretty laggy compared to quantower , ninja trader etc, but it is a good starter platform. I’ll look into this.
