6.6l 2006 duramax won't start. I mistakenly posted in the wrong section but my truck was running great. Shut it off wouldn't start back up. Towed it home started Next morning. Shut it off wouldn't start again. Changed the fuel filter next day started up. Switched it off wouldn't start again. We bought a motor I was told it was a lml. Ended up being a lgh, out of a cab chassis 2013, everything matched up other then one egr plug. But being as egr is deleted it shouldn't be a huge deal, the truck cranks but won't fire up. The truck stays running until you shut it off, then it won't start. Once it sits for a while, everything will work again, and the tech 2 will communicate. No codes other than "loss of communciation with **CM" codes in each module. Using a test light, check the small wire on the starter for power when the key is turned to start. If it has signal from the key every time then the problem is the starter. Change the fuel filter often, the Duramax fuel system is fed by suction from the fuel tank and the slightest filter plugging will starve and overwork the fuel pump. The newer 17 models finally use a fuel boost pump to correct the starve issue. I know I’m a little answering this, but thanks to all for the advise.

It will lope hard if it starts, But it's an idea. Or you can try to pressurize the tank with about 10psi and try starting the truck. It may help the CP3 prime itself.Mine doesn’t crank or start when there’s no shift indicator light. If no signal to the BCM, check the pink wire on connector X1 at the BCM, pin 2, and the white wire connector X1 at the BCM pin 4. With the key in start position, both of these should have voltage. Pin 4 should have 5V.Measure both batteries and check all connections first. Could be the starter or solenoid going.
