While barricade wall is a great idea, the issue lies in the guard counter mechanic itself. Even when using barricade wall, it won't save you when you are mid-animation with the guard counter. Some enemies have too fast of a recovery, even when you guard counter at the last hit. (Imps or skeleton, just one amongst the many examples.)
