For reading and note taking with the notepad the boox is hands down the far superior device. I have to read lots of academic papers in various degrees of pdf quality, scan type and text type. There is absolutely no problem with those on my note air. I can get my texts onto the note air directly via the moodle app, that works well.In fact I switched to the Boox pen immediately. And the magnets are better so it stays attached better. The UI of the note taking app has improved dramatically. Too much to mention. I do have both, A5X and A6X. I use the larger one on the job for extensive note taking and reviewing / annotating pdf files. For this I prefer the larger screen. The A6X is my private device mostly for eBook reading and the odd notes, reminders, lists and scribbles, on the go, on the sofa or in bed. For this I prefer the smaller size.
