Normal saddles have 12-18% instead of 20-26% but they can give you stirrups aswell which boost drain rate and increase handling and speed. I am currently using the crafted ones for looks only. It looks like the max crafted saddle adds 70% total boost, but doesn't give extra acceleration or anything. Might be worth it.
