I'm having a hard time finding ryze viable at all right now, but he is specifically worse after that aggro update. Like many have said, this is actually more manageable top lane. Ryze ult can be used to gank, shove, tower dive or back door, with your ally. So, it is very problematic and I do think it should be gutted for something else that is easier to balance. Wouldn't be suprised. It the cause of most of his problems. Like kalista's oathsworn mechanic.Then there's Cassiopeia who gets countered by picks like Ori rather than Ryze. Kassadin is an easy match up for Ryze but I think Kassa can survive the lane pretty well and lose only slightly. I'd consider picking something like Renekton or Akshan if they go Kassa. I am intrigued by your approach but fail to understand your thought process. I don't think they means completing seraphs. I think they instead buy the comps for raw stats and then complete ROA. Calatyst still being the rush and then going for Rod and kindle. I don't agree with it just thought I would try and clear that up.

Is Ryze support viable? I've tried it out in Normal several times now and I'm surprised at how good Ryze is at securing kills. His E-W-Q combo is pretty much always guaranteed to hit and causes massive damage during early-mid game. Jax and tryndamere are also easy in lane, and teemo cant really do much against you either since his blind is useless and you outdamage him in trades. Pre 9.12 Ryze was a battlemage, with low range and mobility but high durability, making him a strong duelist and splitpusher. Current Ryze is a squishy burst mage who relies on a team frontlining for him.
