I had kept the blown up 540V so I swapped out the coils, this is when I noticed the blown up engine didn't have a igniter and the engine I had bought used did have an igniter. Jul 15, 2013 · Kawasaki fc540V not getting spark. This is driving me crazy and the grass is growing tall lol. I know its not a ". tractor" but I have a bunton walk behind mower. It has a Kawasaki fc540v engine on it. I bought it about 2 months ago and it has worked flawlessly up till now. I went to start it about a week ago and it wouldn't get going. Once you have it running, adjust the mixture richer, then it'll restart hot. It's running too lean. It is possible to have good spark outside the engine, but wind up with no spark under the pressure of compression. Easily proved: Install the spark plug, give her a good shot of carb cleaner down the carb throat, and close the choke.

I have seen a few used carbs on ebay, but they have the shutoff solenoids on the bottom of the bowl.
