DaveMcLain. I built a 557 for Extreme Machine/Flow Technologies a few years ago that had a Scat 9000 series crank which failed in the rear rod throw. The engine was built in a D1VE block, used Eagle rods and JE pistons, it made 902 horsepower on my dyno running on racing gasoline, 33 degrees timing.

Summary. To summarize, just remember that a stroker motor is a standard engine, but with an increased stroke in the cylinder. This increases total displacement resulting in more torque and more horsepower. These motors are often used in muscle cars, as they give it that muscle feeling.and basically any block will go .080 over (4.440).. basically any block is good for a 557 is what Im saying.. all the stroker kits are basically the same money.. and there is absolutely no reason not to go right to the 557.. you'd really be kinda stupid not to go 557 if you're buying any kit.. As for heads..
