My 2015 went out at 153k. 78k is pretty low for this to happen. I didnt need a new transmission, they rebuilt the one I had. Our transmission just did the same thing on our 2017 Chevy Silverado Z71 LT. We had 78,492 miles on it. Just replaced transmission and put a triple disc torque converter on ours at a 6100.00 cost. 2017 Tahoe failed at 78k.
