Like I said, I’ve never had a 1911 before so I don’t have anything to compare it to other than my striker fired guns. I’ve been looking at Staccatos for the last few weeks and was tempted until I learned about the prodigy a week ago. The Staccato is probably the better but I don’t know if it’s going to be $1200 better.

I had 1 20 rd Prodigy mag that wouldn't drop free from my P, I had 1 17rd Prodigy mag that wouldn't engage the slide stop fully on my P. So I got rid of those 2. The other 6 or so mixed 17, 20rd Prodigy mags seem to be ok in my P, but I haven't shot the P all that much.If you are looking for a range toy or entry level competition the modified Prodigy would be decent. If you are purchasing for home defense or CCW then the Staccato P without question. There is no substitute for reliability.
