The barrel should be pinned and the cylinder recessed on the M66-1. The grips would look like this.Trying to figure out the rough value, age and any weird quirks the model might have since they didn't tell me too much at the shop. Very nice model 19. As to value, as was stated it can vary in different regions but $625 would be about the bottom line practically anywhere with a high end value of around $750. The pinned barrel and recessed cylinder make it more desirable than newer ones. A gun shop would offer you $300-400 probably.

Mar 27, 2023 · My 629-6 is prefix CJE and was made late 2005. The -7 and -8 have always confused me. I have seen no definitive descrpiption of either one other than -7 was two piece barrel and -8 was slab side barrel. Both don't hold true when looking at examples online that appear to be same as a -6. Maybe someone with more knowledge of the 629 will chime in.

The serial number is on the butt, also in the crane area - just the numbers are on the butt, the crane has the model number and serial number - Model 19-3 2K905**. As said, the 241Kxxx is the SN and that dates the gun to early 1982. The -2 after M66 in the model number indicates the second engineering change, which occurred in 1982 and lasted until 1986 when the -3 was released. The Model 66 was initially released in 1970.
