Eu4 scratches my historical itch better than ck2/ck3, because ck is much more character focused and not so much on a nation's history. Your nation can completely switch names at the creation of a title in ck, but in eu4 it's much more tied to your country's legacy and stuff. Honestly, eu4 is more fun, but ck2 or ck3 is more friendly for beginners.

Having played Europa Universalis 4 for some time, and noticing that the end date for that game (1800...ish) is more or less the starting date for Victoria 3 (also 1800...ish), i was wondering if it would be possible to import a saved game file from EU4 into Vic3, that is to say, to somehow have Vic3 act like some sort of followup to EU4, in whatever state you led the world to be when EU4 ends.

CK2 even has an official dlc to convert the game to EU4. Playing from CK to Hoi4 or even stellaris is what's called a mega campaign.
