Go with the corrolla. RAV4 Hybrid. It's physically shorter by a couple of inches front to back than the Corolla, which makes maneuvering in the city easier. The suspension will handle bad roads better than the Corolla. It's much quieter and doesn't give much up on MPG to the Corolla. It'll be a much less tiring drive. After reading every review out there, it sounded like the Rav4 had significantly higher cabin noise and potentially harsh on bad roads. That being said, the Venza drives very well. My biggest surprise is how well the hybrid system works. Nicer interior in all respects in CX-5. The turbocharged engine in the CX-5 whipped the RAV-4's. RAV-4 was just vaguely tacky and boring. I also preferred the CX-5's styling to the RAV-4's Tonka-truck styling, but that's subjective. Both have stellar reliability ratings.
