It sat up for several years and the tank rusted. We had the tank rotted and creamed. The bike will run for several weeks and then it floods. We have cleaned the carb several times. We put on an external fuel filter. The petcock has been cleaned and the carb rebuilt. We dont know why it continues to flood.Also if the cable connectors at the battery have not been cleaned that also could cause electrical difficulties. Some owners also have reported dirty and insecure fuse connections. Heat will increase electrical resistance and a dodgy connection problem will make matters worse. I've been having trouble getting the carburetor dialed in on my Vulcan 800. At this point, I'm not sure if my thoughts were correct, or if something else is causing the problem. It's a '99 VN800A with Cobra exhaust. 2001 Kawasaki Vulcan 800 engine noise. Try taking the video outside so it isn't picking up reverb and echo. If it sounds that bad outside, no it isn't normal. That sounds like bad exhaust leak or a straight up rod knock. The rockers aren't adjustable, the lash is set by shims and they get tighter over time.
