On the right side of the barrel is stamped "22 LR". The handles look like fake wood, they could be real, two halves screwed on. Finally, when you open the cylinder, on the arm is stamped "24".

I think Taurus made a change to the frame in the TCP metal wise, placed a unique serial number on them and sent them out to me sold.Probably a different Rossi serial number range, but my Navy Arms 1892 serial starts with NA and is in the low 500s. Bought it new in late summer of '99. The current Rossi crowd doesn't even want to talk about a Navy Arms 1892 that the old A. Rossi company made. Here is what I need; the serial # of your TX 22 (please use XXXX for the last 4 numbers), is your barrel good or was the bore machined poorly, and the manufacturing date (if you know). In order to keep down the clutter, please limit your response to those three items. If you want to brag or complain about Taurus or the TX 22, take it elsewhere.
