What makes Pythion exceptionally good, is that his passive reduces incoming damage your team takes by 5% for each buff on them which stacks up to 25%. This is effectively the same passive as Duchess (although that is 25% for AoE abilities). This is a significant damage reduction passive that will be incredibly valuable to any team.
The only problem I've noted with it is I used to go against tanky Mithrala teams and fast Brogni pops up the block debuffs, we boost speed and nuker takes people out. Masteries are just normal clan boss masteries with no masteries that boost turn meter. As far as the gear goes it's nothing special, mainly aimed to hit the speeds. Depends on level in live arena. I run Ailil on my classic G5 defense team. He is built with 37.5K HP, 1850 def, 7.1K attack, 100% crit rate, 250% CD, and 170 speed. But in Silver+ live arena, we are seeing dps running at 220+ speeds. It is really hard to keep slow nukers alive unless they are HP-based or def-based and harima is on the team.
