The 500 has a cap that screws on that retains the barrel. Remove the cap and then you can slide the barrel out of the way (provided you have the bolt retracted about half way). I don't remember how the magazine spring is held in place, but my guess is that there is a cap that holds the spring in place, and this cap is likely just a friction fit ...
