An old advertisement shows someone spraying a lantern with a garden hose. I don't recommend it but it shows they are safe for use in rain. If it's vintage glass I'd use a cheap new 200a globe instead. Old glass is always getting harder to find. Is it printed with Bernz-o-matic? fish.
