To choose a custom gamerpic through the Xbox app, simply: Load up the app and select your gamerpic icon at the bottom right of the screen to open the Profile tab. Select the edit icon above your profile picture to open your gamerpic options. Choose the photo library icon and select the image you want as your gamerpic.You most likely need a program to resize the image. The Xbox360 icons as gamer picture are 64x64 pixels and it needs to be resized to 1080x1080 pixels to allow the XboxOne to apply it to your account. Though the image is massively blurred, the image will look sharp as you see it in the Top Left corner of the XboxOne user interface / Dashboard.
A 360 gamer picture is 64x64 pixels which is tiny compared to the 1080x1080 pixels of the Xbox One gamer pictures.
