XR2 and XR4 came with 4 1/4 in lowers. He has been thinking about a `01 Mercury Optimax 225 hp outboard. But he is abit anxious about the weight-difference on those two outboards.

It looks like it's getting fuel, but not firing above a certain RPM. A stuck float needle won't let it idle. A leaking float needle won't let it idle. A leaking float needle won't be noticed at high speed. They basically stand open at WOT anyway. 150 XRI is fuel injected 2.5 litre. 150 XR6 is carbureted 2.5 litre. 150 XR4 is carbureted 2.4 litre. 150 XR2 is carbureted 2.0 litre.
